ELLEN TO LEAD ADVISORY COUNCIL IN 2010
New York, NY Dec. 7, 2009-- LaGrange businessman Tim Ellen, a New York Life agent here for the past 20 years, has been elected President of the company's Agents' Advisory Council (AAC) for 2010, the company announced today.
The AAC was established in 1946, and has evolved into a prestigious group of 24 New York Life sales representatives from across the country elected annually by their peers to represent the approximately 12,000 agent field force. Its purpose is to present agent viewpoints and issues to the company's executive management, including challenges and suggested solutions to improve the company's service and productivity as a leader in insurance and financial services.
The AAC’s Executive Committee provides leadership and guidance to the AAC membership and personally meets with senior executives in the company’s Manhattan-based Home Office to address the AAC’s top priorities. The AAC Executive Committee consists of an elite group of six AAC members who are voted into office at their Annual Meeting by the AAC's current membership.
Ellen, who served as Vice-Presdient in 2009, was recently honored by the company as a "Senior NYLIC," for 20 years of service, and as a "Lifetime Council Member," having qualified through sales achievement and client service for 20 consecutive company council meetings. He will begin the second of three years' service on the AAC's Excutive Committee as President on January 1, 2010, returning in 2011 in an advisor role as Immediate Past President.
